Ilkeston Business Wins Gold Award MOD

Armed Forces Covenant Gold AwardThe Ministry of Defence (MOD) has named the Derbyshire-based Foot Healthcare Clinic: We Fix Feet Limited a Gold Award winner in its Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) for 2022.

The Gold Award is the highest badge of honour for organisations that have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and demonstrated outstanding support for those who serve, veterans and their families.

The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS)  acknowledges employers who have provided exceptional support to the armed forces community and defence by going above and beyond their covenant pledges.

Through a 3 tier approach of bronze, silver and gold awards, the scheme recognises the different levels of commitment employers provide. This allows the Ministry of Defence to thank and honour those organisations for their support publicly.

How are you considered for the award?

To be considered for a Gold Award, employers must have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and already hold the Silver Award. They must have a range of measures to support the armed forces, including a relationship with the MOD, favourable policies towards defence people issues, and leave for reservists for training or other requirements.

The We Fix Feet Team March 2022We Fix Feet Limited is immensely proud of its team, especially those who have served their country. With a diverse and broad range of skills held by those who have served in the Armed Forces, We Fix Feet Limited understands and promotes the strengths that this experience and knowledge brings to the organisation.

“We Fix Feet is delighted to receive this award and be recognised for our long-standing commitment to supporting reservists and the families of those serving.

Reservists and veterans bring a wealth of experience and skills. As a healthcare organisation, we must be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. The training that armed forces personnel receive aligns with these principles and provides natural resilience and an ability to work in and lead teams. All this helps We Fix Feet Limited deliver outstanding care and excellent outcomes.

Last year we received the Silver Award, and to win this Gold Award so soon after this is a testament to the great work so many people in our business deliver;  servicing our clients, recruiting veterans and supporting spouses to re-enter the labour market.

We will continue to support our service personnel for these important reasons”.

– Steve Carter, Armed Forces Champion

We Fix Feet reaffirmed its commitment to the armed forces by signing the Armed Forces Covenant again in December 2020.  As such, this recognises the importance of fairness and respect provided to those serving, for veterans and armed forces families.

We Fix Feet Limited is the only micro-business among five Derbyshire ERS Gold Award-winning organisations.  The other four Derbyshire Gold Award-winning organisations are University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Acres Engineering Limited and North East Derbyshire District Council.
