Could you spare a pair of socks for the homeless?
Did you know socks are one of the most needed items at homeless shelters, but often the least donated?
Socks are something we simply take for granted but are essential for rough sleepers to look after their feet and keep them warm and dry this winter.
We Fix Feet footcare clinics in Beeston & Ilkeston are teaming up with Emmanuel House in Nottingham to collect as many socks as possible this November.
“We’ve been running this campaign for the past 3 years at our Sheffield clinic. “says Clinic Manager Darren “As footcare professionals, we know the importance of looking after your feet, so we are keen to help those less fortunate this winter by encouraging the local community to spare a pair for the homeless.”
Simply drop off your socks throughout November at our Beeston and Ilkeston footcare clinics.
We are taking socks old and new, so long as they are freshly laundered and in good condition, they will be welcomed!
Emmanuel House is an independent charity that supports homeless, vulnerable and isolated adults in Nottingham. It provides diverse and accessible services that meet people’s basic needs including hot meals and drinks, showers, laundry and a change of clothing. It works to empower individuals through support services, trained professionals and social activities. With limited statutory funding, they rely on donations.
“We’re delighted to be teaming up with Emmanuel House for the sock collection and support the important work that they do locally. We just ask that all donated socks (old or new) are clean and in good condition so that they can be passed on,” adds Darren
